The Meerkat was chosen as the second animal in the series because we wished to illustrate both the animal’s ecological and conservation value in a wildlife environment. We furthermore wish to illustrate that the Meerkat, although not endangered, plays a vital role in the conservation of other animals and also removes parasites and other vermin that would be detrimental to the environment.
